Many would agree that one of the best parts in having locs is treating yourself to a great loctician, but the perfect loctician can sometimes be hard to find. 

If you’re new to the loc community, or feel like it’s time to connect yourself with an awesome loctician, here’s what to look for and how to look for him or her. Now, these tips are not set in stone, they’re just what we found to be the most useful guidelines to match yourself up with your future loctician. 

First and Foremost

The first tip, and quite possibly our favorite tip, is go with your gut. We believe in the power of intuition and your own self-knowledge. If you have a feeling this loctician is the right one for you, then go for it! But if you’re not quite sure, or deep down you feel something pushing you away, then it’s okay to keep looking and take all the time you need. Once that voice within you is encouraging you to go with this particular loctician, start off with a consultation before booking your yearly appointments, and make sure to compile a list of questions for your loctician. This way you can get a better feel for the loctician, their methods, and discern how helpful they can be for your particular loc lifestyle. 

How to Decide if the Loctician is Right For You

It is important to note that just because a loctician is amazingly popular on social media, doesn't mean that a loctician does great work on locs, or that their ethics will align with your own. To get a better feel for your loctician in the workfield, look up reviews from clients, see how they interact with their clients and if they take clients online. If you’re lucky enough to get a referral from a friend or family member, that to us, is ideal and a beautiful possibility. You don’t want to put your locs into just anyone’s hands!
