Signs You Need to Clarify Your Locs

Signs You Need to Clarify Your Locs

There are times when you should and should not clarify your locs. You don’t need to clarify your locs every time you wash your hair. In fact, you shouldn’t clarify your locs every time you wash your hair. In this article we’ll have a look at everything you need to know when it comes to clarifying your hair.

How to Know it’s Time to Clarify Your Hair

You know it's time to clarify your locs when you use your regular conditioner and your hair isn't feeling moisturized. When the things that used to be beneficial and were your favorite go-to things are no longer working, that’s when you know you need to clarify.

How Often Should I Clarify?

We don't recommend clarifying every time you wash your hair. If you wash your hair once a month, do your clarifying every other month. Follow up with a moisturizing shampoo. The Rose Lavender Shampoo can be used as a moisturizing shampoo after the Sweet Peppermint Clarifying Shampoo. You want to then follow up with the Amla Extract Conditioner.

Clarifying is a deep cleanse, but Dr Locs Sweet Peppermint Clarifying Shampoo will not strip your hair. When formulating this product, we made sure it wouldn't strip your hair - especially if you have color - and that it was more effective than a regular shampoo. The Sweet Peppermint and Rose Lavender will enhance color as they clean and moisturize the hair. You don't need to have color in your hair to use the color line.

Use the Amla Conditioner after you finish shampooing and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then rinse it out and use the Jinan Moisture Mix as your daily spray and moisturizer.

How to Use the Sweet Peppermint Clarifying Shampoo

Run it up and down your locs and scalp. You don't have to worry about it stripping your hair. It’s going deeper into your follicles to cleanse out all the old oils and conditioners that may be sitting on and inside your locs. You'll immediately see the difference once you clarify. You can use your favorite moisturizing products - and you will feel the difference.
