The first stage is considered the Baby Stage. During the baby stage, the loc comes undone when washing. The loc can be manipulated into different sizes during this stage because it isn’t matted yet.
The second stage can be called the Teenage Stage. The locs are now not coming undone when washing. However, like a teenager, the locs are rebellious while taking their actual shape. Some are big and poofy.
The last stage is the Adult Stage. The locs are fully matted up and down the loc. The newest new growth, of course, isn’t fully matted yet and will never be. It is the rest of the loc that is at its maturest. The loc isn’t coming undone while washing. And the loc, as with an adult, is the shape it will be for years to come.
