All the Ways Your Hair Can Benefit From The Amla Extract Conditioner

The Amla Extract Conditioner is one of our favorite products for locs (and for loose hair). It especially works wonders on anyone experiencing dry locs or hair. The conditioner was made for those coloring their locs in mind, but it’s a product anyone with dry hair will benefit from. Here’s why.

Why The Amla Extract Conditioner Was Created

This product was created because we found a lot of people needed more moisture in their locs, especially if they had color treated hair. At the time this was made there wasn't any attention being paid to people with locs in the industry of coloring hair. As a loctician, founder of Dr Locs saw people with color-treated hair didn't have a product for their locs to use at home.

This conditioner was created with a chemist to help those at home get that needed moisture without getting any buildup. In 2019-2020, the formula was being created with a chemist and tested on employees and customers to finally get to the final product. It took about 4 rounds and two years to finalize this product. We wanted it to rinse out easily. It was tested on clients' hair, adding more than you would add to someone’s hair, to test how an abundance of it would wash out. This conditioner washes out completely whereas other conditioners on the market wouldn't wash out completely.

We have to admit, we’re very proud of this product.

How to Get the Most Out of the Amla Extract Conditioner

You can use it as your deep moisture treatment. After washing your hair you can use the Amla Conditioner throughout your hair, in your roots and down your locs to your tips. Sit under your Dr Locs steamer, and steam your hair with the Amla conditioner in your hair for 20 minutes. It penetrates throughout your hair, deep into your follicles. The steam opens everything up and all the yumminess from the conditioner seeps into your hair. Rinse with cool water which will seal it in. Then finish off with your Jinan Moisture Mix for the full experience.

Can I Use the Amla Extract Conditioner on Loose Hair?

If you don't have locs you can absolutely benefit from using the Amla conditioner with the same process. Just leave it in your hair and let it sit under a cap - if you don't have a steamer - for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse it out. Follow with the Jinan Moisture Mix.

If you have loose hair, you can use it as a leave-in cream. It's a great leave-in conditioner for loose natural hair. You can use it for slicking back ponytails or just for adding in that moisture when the hair is feeling dry.

Note: if you have locs, we don’t recommend using this product as a leave-in conditioner.
